Middleham Stables Open Day 2022

Council has received the below from Racing Welfare

Good Friday saw the return of the annual Middleham Open Day which was organised and ran by Racing Welfare to raise vital funds to support those working in the horseracing and thoroughbred breeding community.

We had a fantastic turn out with just over 3500 individuals attending and feedback has been extremely positive both locally and from those visiting from further afield, with many people looking forward to returning to the area and to the Open Day next year.

The day was a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the best parts of the town and local area whilst also giving the general public the opportunity to have a behind the scenes look at the racing yards in and around the town.  The opening of the yards allowed the general public to meet with trainers, staff and horses where they would have had an opportunity to find out a little more about this amazing industry and the work that goes into getting racehorses to the racetrack.

We appreciate that it can be a little disruptive for the residents of Middleham and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your co-operation and to those who volunteered for us.  However, after a two year hiatus it was great to be able to bring this event back to the community and to see the buzz back around the town and Low Moor once again and we hope you felt this too.

We are very much looking forward to being able to do it all again with your support in 2023.

If anyone has any feedback that they would like to share to help us improve on next years event we would very much like to hear this.

Feedback can be emailed directly to myself at gburtonpye@racingwelfare.co.uk or please feel free to call into the office or phone me direct on 01969 624123.  The Middleham office is open Mon-Fri 8am to 4pm.

Best Wishes
