Dementia Awareness course on Zoom Tuesday 30th November – choice of times; either 3pm or 7pm

Please see below a  flier for a Dementia Awareness session to be held on Zoom.  The meeting invite links are also below, there are two sessions so hopefully one or other will be convenient.  It is a 1 hour session, partly interactive with a couple of ‘quizzes’

These sessions might be useful to anyone who –  through work, family or simply living in the community – wishes to know more about dementia, what services are available and how we can all be more aware of and helpful to those with, or caring for someone with, dementia so they will then feel more confident reaching out for help and understanding.

The sessions will include:

  • Who is Dementia Forward and what do they do – what services run in your area and how to request referrals.
  • The most common types of dementia and how they present
  • What is dementia and why are people affected differently – why can it be so difficult
  • How can I help to support a person with dementia – some handy tips for in the home / community / work

Please feel free to forward to anyone you know who may be interested and to put up the poster.

Dementia Forward https://www.dementiaforward.org.uk/ is the leading dementia charity for York and North Yorkshire and provide support, advice and information to anybody affected by dementia across the county, and have developed a comprehensive range of services; all with people living with dementia at their heart.
