Council has been informed of the following MIDDLEHAM BRIDGE MAINTENANCE WORKS and the message is in full below.

This letter is to inform you that the North Yorkshire County Council will be undertaking essential highway maintenance at Middleham Bridge. The work will entail repointing areas of the northwest turret where excess movement at the interface between the parapet and the turret has caused the mortar to crack.
The works are currently programmed to commence on 5th July and may last for up to 3 days. Every effort will be made to complete the works as quickly as possible in order to minimise disruption. We appreciate that the diversion route is rather large, unfortunately, due to the nature of this bridge and surrounding roads, there is no other viable option, as we cannot divert traffic down a class of roads lower than the one closed.
The works will be carried out between the hours of 8 am and 6 pm, however, we will be unable to open the bridge out of hours due to the narrow width. Pedestrian access will not be permitted. We request your assistance in the following ways: –

Please co-operate and comply with any instructions issued by the traffic management operatives and take extra care whilst within the works area.
