A684 Safer Roads FUND – A684, Akebar Drainage Survey Works – A684 Closure

The Town Council has been notified as below.  A map of the diversion can be found here: 70069269-LOCATION PLAN

This letter is to inform you that North Yorkshire County Council will be undertaking highway drainage investigation works on the A684 Conyers Lane, between the junctions with Chapel Lane, Akebar to Leyburn Road, Constable Burton, please see attached plan for detail.  This work is programmed to take place on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd February.  Please note that to complete this work it will be necessary to close the A684 in both directions. A fully signed diversion route will be in place.

The works will be carried out between 09.30 and 15.00 and the road closure will be in place between these times only.  This may inevitably delay vehicular travel but we will endeavour to minimise the duration of the road closure where possible.

Please note, this work is part of an extensive programme and therefore it is possible that some adjustment to this start date or the duration of the works may be necessary should unforeseen circumstances such as significant weather events or emergencies on the highway network arise.

We request your assistance in the following ways: –

  • Please contact the Council Customer Service Centre, 01609 780780, to advise of any special access needs you may require during the work period.
  • Cooperate and comply with any instructions issued by site staff and the Traffic Safety & Control Officer and take extra care whilst near the works area.
